Kick off Pride Month by volunteering with HLSA-DC and Gay for Good DC!
We will team up with Gay for Good DC, in partnership with the Potomac Conservancy, for a volunteer clean-up project to advance the fight for clean water and parks on National Trails Day.
Space is limited and will be granted on a first come, first served basis! To that end, we kindly ask for your RSVP by Wednesday, May 25.
Gay for Good DC is the Washington, DC chapter of Gay for Good, an organization that mobilizes lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer (LGBTQ+) and ally volunteers to promote diversity, foster inclusion and strengthen ties to the broader community. Potomac Conservancy is the region's leading clean water advocate, fighting to ensure the Potomac River boasts clean drinking water, healthy lands, and vibrant communities.

You are welcome to bring a guest to this event. If bringing a guest, please RSVP for your full party so that we know how many will be attending.
Other Details
- The event will be held entirely outdoors.
- We will send you an email to confirm your attendance the week before the event. Please make every effort to attend or let us know as early as you can if you can't make it. Gay for Good DC and Potomac Conservancy are counting on our volunteers in order to effectively serve the community. If you commit to volunteer and do not show up, they cannot meet their commitments.
- Please plan to arrive at least 15 minutes prior to our start time to allow ample time for check-in, orientation, and some coffee and light breakfast provided by HLSA-DC.
- Children are welcome to attend as long as they are accompanied by an adult.
- All volunteers are encouraged to wear masks when gathered in groups.
- Gay for Good DC asks that volunteers bring reusable gloves to the clean-up. Potomac Conservancy will also provide extra disposable gloves and hand sanitizer.

Getting There
Gravelly Point Park is located directly north of Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport, accessible from the northbound lanes (east side) of the George Washington Memorial Parkway.
From Washington, D.C.: Take I-395 South to Exit 10B. Follow signs for George Wash Mem Pkwy S / Reagan Nat'l Arpt / Mount Vernon, and merge onto George Washington Memorial Parkway. You cannot access Gravelly Point from the southbound parkway lanes, so continue past Gravelly Point on the left and instead take the exit on the right toward Reagan Nat'l Airport. Continue onto Airport Access Rd and bear right (do not fully enter the airport), looping around until you merge onto the northbound George Washington Memorial Parkway lanes (follow signs for GW Parkway North / Washington / I-395). Continue north on the George Washington Memorial Parkway until you reach the Gravelly Point exit on the right, and proceed to the parking lot.
From I-495: Proceed on I-495 to U.S. Route 1, and merge onto US-1 N / S Patrick St toward Alexandria. Continue on US-1 N for two miles and turn right onto Slaters Ln. Turn left onto George Washington Memorial Parkway and continue for three miles until you reach the Gravelly Point exit on the right, and proceed to the parking lot.
Parking: Ample parking is available in the Gravelly Point parking lot.
