Ambassador White-a leader in Massachusetts on mental health advocacy issues– will lead the discussion which will include remarks from worldwide expert, Dr. Maurizio Fava from Boston’s medical community in the psychiatry field. Dr. Fava is a leading expert on depression and he will provide insights to help the audience understand signs of depression and actions to take to respond, as well as provide other general commentary on the stress of high level professional activities involving law and related sectors. He will also respond to questions about how to mitigate risk from stress and other related topics.
Additionally, Dieter Clauss, an expert on lawyer insurance matters, will provide insights on missteps in the practice of law which may stem from mental health stresses including responses involving self-medication actions taken by practicing professionals which may entail substance abuse concerns. Dieter is the Vice President of the Lawyers Group at Claus & Company, Inc. Mr. Clauss will provide data points for the audience as well, for information and for purposes of discussion.
Timothy McTaggart from the HLSA of D.C. and Ambassador White have organized yearly programs on this topic and urge anyone with concerns about their own or family member mental health issues to consult their HR departments, including confidential assistance programs, Bar association assistance programs or other community assistance programs. Seeking help for mental health and related wellness issues should not come with a stigma for those reaching out for help and guidance.
We look forward to seeing you there!
