Speakers:
Michael Feuer is the Dean of the George Washington University School of Education and Human Development. Dean Feuer’s most recent book is Can Schools Save Democracy? Civic Education and the Common Good, Johns Hopkins University Press (2023).
Eli Gottlieb is a cultural psychologist and adviser to government and nonprofit organizations on leadership and strategy. He is a senior fellow at the Graduate School of Education and Human Development at George Washington University and a visiting professor at the Interdisciplinary Institute of Innovation at Télécom Paris. His published research includes “Iranian Scientists and French Showers: Collaborative Fact-Checking of Identity-Salient Online Information” in Frontiers in Psychology (Nov. 2023) and “Why Bother with Evidence?” in Psychology Today (Aug. 2023).
Amy Berman (HLS JD 1997) is the Deputy Director of the National Academy of Education, where she works to advance the strategic and research initiatives of the organization. Before joining the NAE, Ms. Berman served as an education civil rights lawyer and Enforcement Director at the Office for Civil Rights in the U.S. Department of Education, and Acting Section Chief and Principal Deputy at the U.S. Department of Justice, Civil Rights Division, Educational Opportunities Section.
Stephen Anstey (HLS LLM 2016) is an attorney at Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton, LLP, where he directs the firm’s artificial intelligence legal consulting and advisory service. An expert on digital assets and distributed ledger technologies, Stephen is also a specialist in Native American law, representing Tribes before courts and administrative tribunals around the country.
